Worried that your employee’s or student’s poor password management might put your organization at risk? Passwords scrawled on sticky notes spread across their monitor open to public view? Usernames and passwords saved to unapproved personal devices? Logins easy to guess because of overused names, dates and other self-identifying information? Sphinx Logon Manager can eliminate risks and secure your network quickly, easily and for a lot less than you might think.
The Password Problem
Most users choose weak passwords that commonly use their own or family member’s names, birthdays, anniversaries, colors, pets and other info that can be gleaned from their social media accounts. They also tend to use the same handful of passwords for their personal and work devices, and inadvertently display them on calendars, sticky notes, notepads or unencrypted reminders on their mobile phones. This kind of “password management” is not protecting anything in your organization.
Poor password management puts you at risk of a device or network breach from both malicious insiders and outside hackers. Even without seeing any openly displayed login info, most hackers can break the average person’s username and password in under a minute.

Watch the short video above for a brief overview of Sphinx Logon Manager, many of its key features, and how it could improve your password security.
What is Two-Factor Authentication?
Two-factor authentication has been adopted as a recommended security standard for logical access because it adds “strong authentication” to logons.
The two factors are: what you have (a card) and what you know (a PIN). Neither of these would require your students or employees to memorize multiple usernames or passwords, or make regular changes to keep them unique.
Sphinx Logon Manager makes it easy to add two-factor authentication to any installation, and all your employee needs to remember is their own short PIN (Personal Identification Number).
